A proud Texan, David L. Traylor was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, but from the
age of 18 months has lived in Dallas. Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s in the Preston
Hollow neighborhood of North Dallas, it was a different time; a time when kids spent
most of their time outdoors, free to roam neighborhoods and go where they
pleased. A kid’s bike was his “car” and his freedom. Friends and siblings could
pedal as far as they wished long as they could make it home by dark. He’s seen the
city and the surrounding towns experience tremendous growth and change. But to
him, what hasn’t changed are the feelings of freedom, undying positivity and

Those feelings have never left him and remain a big part of what drives him to help
others. He feels people should be free to enjoy their surroundings and continue to
progress in their lives. And if they stumble, he’s honored to be called upon to help
them keep that freedom. He enjoys helping clients put their problems behind them
to return to their normal lives.

He is an alumnus of Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas, Southern
Methodist University (SMU) and The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). He earned
a degree in Economics and Finance at UTD before returning to SMU to earn his law

Mr. Traylor has been recognized by his peers with the highest possible rating, ‘AV

recognition that only a small percentage of lawyers ever attain. He has earned a
10.0 out of 10.0 rating on Avvo and received their Client Choice Award in 2014. He

With 20 years experience in criminal law, I am not new to defending clients who
need immediate solutions and true understanding of their stresses and fears. My
experience is simply unparalleled. As a former Assistant City Attorney, an Assistant
District Attorney, over 11 years as a municipal judge and over a decade and a half
defending serious crimes I have the experience to DEFEND YOU and a proud
advantage over other attorneys.

I have handled over 300 jury trials (YES, 300!) and over 3,000 criminal cases. I
handled everything from DWI to Murder. I excel in the defense of complicated felony
charges, including sexual assaults, child abuse charges, murder, aggravated
assault, family violence and dope charges.
I have had numerous not guilty verdicts and dismissals; I combine a comprehensive
defense strategy with a team work approach hiring private investigators, expert
witnesses and consultants as needed to bring you an unequaled level of experience
and expertise.

Why hire the Law Office of Katheryn H. Haywood?
I am widely recognized as one of the BEST trial attorneys in North Texas (DFW).
Other local attorneys often seek out my advice and counsel on their cases, and I’m
often hired to supervise or assist them in their criminal trials.

When you hire me, I represent you. I do not send an associate to plead your case;
no paralegal drafts your motions and when you call to discuss your case, you speak
with me. I personally handle any case on which I am hired from the initial arrest to
the conclusion of the proceedings. I return all phone calls and emails personally
and strive to take some of the fear and anxiety out of the criminal justice system.

Being charged with a crime is emotionally taxing and can overwhelm every family
member of the accused. Have an attorney who understands this stress is
paramount to surviving the experience.

Over 20 Years Experience In Criminal Law
Nothing puts an anxious client’s nerves at ease better than an attorney with over 2
decades of battle-tested success and passion, know-how and sheer moxie to fight
relentlessly for each and every client. In addition, nothing makes an opposing
District Attorney more nervous than facing a defense attorney whose reputation
they know and whom the courts and judges respect. When you work with The Law
Office of Katheryn H. Haywood, you’re working with an attorney that has
successfully conquered virtually every scenario our criminal justice system can

The Bottom Line: successful outcomes for clients facing criminal charges
Let’s face it, when you are in the position of needing a criminal defense attorney,
you want a criminal defense lawyer who knows how to WIN! While fighting for and
receiving a successful outcome for my clients is routine, what is not common is the
special care and strategic thought that goes into each and every client’s case. I am
accessible to all of my clients and will devise a plan of attack that will best ensure
success for YOU.

Alexandra Meaders was born in Bogota, Colombia. After graduating with her
Bachelor’s Degree at Universidad Pedagogica Nacional de Colombia, she was
nationally selected to participate in a Cultural Exchange Scholarship in the United
States and has since become a United States Citizen. She obtained her Juris
Doctorate Degree at Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. As the first
immigrant from her family to come to the United States, she worked full time to
support herself through law school where she also managed to obtain the
distinction of being named to the Dean’s List.  While completing her studies at
Capital Law, she also enrolled and completed a negotiations program at Harvard
University Law School.  Her dedication to pro bono work was recognized when she
graduated law school with pro bono honors.  She has since returned to Texas as a
licensed attorney after having successfully passed the Texas Bar exam on first
attempt.  Alexandra has also graduated from the Trial Lawyer’s College which is a
great honor in the legal community. She believes that dedication to constant
learning and ongoing education is highly important to serving her clients to the best
of her ability. Alexandra is an active member of Aila and TLC.

As the first immigrant from her family, she understands the relevance of immigration
cases in the lives of people and the stresses involved with the process. In her view,
destinies of families and communities.

Prior to attending law school, Alexandra worked as an educator in Dallas, Texas.
She realized the fears and struggles many Hispanic families faced because of their
immigration status, and saw first-hand the adverse impact of these circumstances
on the education of Hispanic children.  She strongly believes in the potential of the
Hispanic community when afforded equal justice and equal opportunities under the
law. This belief has helped shape her career goals to become an immigration and
criminal law attorney working to make a difference in her community.

Alexandra’s practice currently focuses in the areas of both Immigration and Criminal
Law. There is an overlap of great importance between these two areas when it
comes to immigrants particularly under the current administration.  Her practice also
deals with cases of deportation/removal proceedings and obtaining immigration
bonds from ICE. Alexandra also devotes a great part of her practice to other
immigration services such as citizenships,  renewals of green cards, adjustment of
status, waivers, K Visas, Consular Process and Immigration Appeals among others.

In addition to the services mentioned above, she works with cases where her clients
are facing criminal charges and have an immigration hold. Alexandra is a
passionate attorney who strives to protect the best interests of her clients even if it
means taking the case all the way to trial, and fights to ensure that her clients are
satisfied with the outcome of their case.
